Let me start by saying my prayers are with you and yours, and you can make it through to the other side of the pain. Please let me share some experience, strength and hope.
My 18-year old son drown last Labor Day weekend while we were bass fishing, and my heart felt like it had been ripped from my body. I did not blame God, because he was only taking what was rightfully his. I blamed myself for a short while. I did a lot of praying, and cried a lot with those who knew him and those who were close to me. I had a few good friends in the program who I could call at a moments notice to share my feelings and thoughts with: I did this often those first few months. At the beginning I kept replaying the painful images of pulling him from the water and performing CPR even though I knew he was dead. Now after all these months, when I think of Zach I do not cry and do not always go back to the side of that creek in my head; I see the vibrant smiling young man whose arduous path to finding Christ helped me become a better father. Now I can talk about him and the joyful times we had together fishing and arrowhead hunting. I talk to him often when I'm praying, and can feel his presence. Joy has crept back into my life, and it will yours also one day. For now may I suggest you embrace the sorrow and share it with loved ones.
My heart goes out to you. It is so sad to lose a child. May God bless and keep you.

Martin, No doubt your words are from a perspective that most of us can't imagine. God bless you for sharing that - it touched my heart and I know I am not alone.
Daniel, please post any arrangements as soon as you get them along with any contact info in case anyone would like to send flowers, a card, or attend the services.

Bassman, thanks for sharing that. I have 2 sisters who have lost children in their early 20s from car accidents and life can be painful at times. The only thing that really matters is your relationship with Jesus Christ and that is what has sustained my family.
My prayers go out to Corey's family and to you also Bassman.

Wish there was something I could do for Mark. Gotta keep the faith in times like these. Daniel, if you can think of anything we can do let me know.
Sometimes things like this don't make any sense and we don't understand. Trust in the lord above and know that there is a better place for all of us. He will get you through the hard times. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you who has replied and say without the love and support of all of you it would be much more diffecult to maintain ones self in this time. I am blessed with an incrediable network of friends, both mine and my son's, who have made this time a little less painful. And for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.Peace.
