If you have the time and are within reasonable driving distance, dont miss the Loretta Tennessee show tomorrow in the Loretta Civic Center, hosted by Roy McKey for the past 16 years.

Roy advertised the show in nine (9) area newspapers and had an in depth article in each of those publications. Roy also has spread the word on 3 local radio stations and from what I am told, there will be thousands come out. Thats what I call getting the word out to have a successful show!

The show has been so successful in the past, that Roy has a waiting list for exhibitors for several years.

Looks like its gonna be a good one!

A group of some fine senior citizen cooks with homemade chicken and dumplins, homemade cornbread, homemade biscuits, chili, and stew with homemade pies and cakes from scratch. I dont think theres another show in the country that has better fare!

I can't see enough of it to tell what it is. I thought it might be a corn sheller but not sure.

Thanks for sharing the pix Kevin! Maybe one day the deep south can have a "super show" in a large venue somewhere.... Earlier this year we made our first visit to the FUN show in Orlando. (Florida United Numismatists) With over 1,300 tables, it is the largest coin convention in the country! It took 2 days just to make one round @ the show:eek:! We learned 2 things at the show: 1) coin dealers aren't nearly as friendly as arrowhead dealers and 2)never thought I would drive 305 miles south of Leesburg GA to see snow flurries:confused:!!

With over 7 million square feet the OCCC is the second largest convention center in the U.S. behind the McCormick place in Chicago... Talk about HUGE!!

Bought my first Cumberland today, with a Perino paper from 1997. Pretty proud to have a genuine authentic example of this rare type.

HH, we could put on a SUPER SHOW in Perry Ga, with the potential to be one of the largest shows in the country, if we could get the right folks involved. They certainly have the facility for it there and its pretty central to the Deep South.

Heres the latest addition. Whatever happened along the edge is ancient. Still at 3.5 inches, this is a nice rare paleo with a Perino COA.

I was discussing the same thing with someone earlier this week about
Perry being a great place for a show. You have easy access with it being right on I-75 and i know there are some great artifacts that come from that area.Great Idea!!!

I've thought about that several times for both bottles and arrowheads. The lighting is great.

Kevin that is a KILLER!!! I bet even when later cultures found cumberlands they were blown away by the superb flaking and incredible flutes. Congrats on that one!

Nice one Dog. That paleo is super nice.
Maybe we could get GIRS, Central States, and all our local societies involved. Coins, fossils, bottles, etc.

Thanks for the great comments and the point HT! I know you like that Clovis - man what some flaking on that thing!

Hank, check your connections and lets start exploring the idea. Would it be a good idea to have it while another event is going on, like the fair or a livestock show? Not sure if that would be "do-able" but it sure would increase traffic.

I do know there are some great artifacts from this area as well.

Just curious how many folks here would display/support it?
