I was planning to attend but alas my daughter came home for the weekend. Something about too many distractions in Gainesville to properly study. Would I have come home to study? Things sure have changed. Unless something interferes, I will definitely attend next year. How informative is this show? Do they discuss ice age life in Florida as well as more modern lithic culture? I would love to talk[listen] to a pro about ice age life in the lower southeast.

It was a great show-- People bring out some of the rarest artifacts from there personal collections to this show. An example-- The two ends of a scored and then snapped partially finished atlatl hook-- one end still had part of the deer antler still affixed-- showed how the thing was manufactured. Also anunbelievable rolled copper drilled plummit from Fla. Some killer pttery from the Pillsbury mound . Dr. Purdy gave a very interesting talk and showed pics of the Vero beach mammoth engraving. She called it the most important find ever made in north America.Proof of human habitation in Fla. at least 13000 yrs ago.

I agree, there were some of the best artifacts in existence at the show. Many rarely-seen points.
