Cross Cut Tallahassee
[CrossCut Tal]

Cross Cut Tallahassee

Very few Tallahassees have the large "cross-cut" style serrations that this river polished gem has. Perhaps the most unique characteristic this example has, is the paleo looking "flute"  that runs from the tip (see the side with the green sticker) and hinges about an inch from the tip.  Calls into question whether or not this was possibly an ancient paleo point that was found and re-worked thousands of years later by someone from the Woodland culture. This one very fine Tallahassee with LOTS of appeal and character. This point was formerly in the Charles Salter collection, AKA "Mister Tallahassee", thought to have had the finest collection of Tallahassee and Santa Fe points ever amassed.
